Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill

Brisbane Breakfast - Nova Network

  • NOVA Entertainment announced today that Susie O’Neill is returning to the Nova 106.9 Brisbane breakfast team as part of the brand-new Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill show, launching on January 19, 2026.

Joining Susie is her long-time Brisbane breakfast co-host, David “Luttsy” Lutteral along with newcomer to the breakfast lineup, Nick Allen-Ducat.

Current Brisbane breakfast co-host Nikki Osborne will remain with the NOVA Entertainment family, appearing on and hosting national network shows across the year and developing unique content slated for release in 2026.

Susie O’Neill is one of Australia’s most celebrated Olympians and a familiar voice to Nova Brisbane breakfast audiences, having launched her radio career with Nova Brisbane in 2013, before going on to co-host Nova’s flagship Brisbane breakfast show for more than ten years.

Said Susie, “It was a hard decision to step away from the breakfast show at the end of 2024, and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to dabble in projects this past year with the extended NOVA family. But now, I’m really looking forward to starting this next chapter.

“I’ve really missed the energy of live radio, and I’ve most definitely missed connecting with listeners. I’ve always believed early mornings are the best time of day and I can’t wait to be back on air in Brisbane with Nova Breakfast.”

Said Nikki, “I’ve loved everything about breakfast radio except for ridiculously early starts. I’m so proud I can say that in my first year we took the number one breakfast show title, and the cherry on top is that next year I get to work with NOVA on some exciting projects and most importantly, have a sleep-in now and then.”

Nick Allen-Ducat began his radio career at Nova 106.9 Brisbane at age 17, first as a member of the street team, then as assistant producer of the breakfast show and host of the Sunday show and its companion podcast. After transitioning into a career in television, Nick returned to radio to host a breakfast show in Newcastle for six years. His return to Nova marks a full circle moment.

Said Nick, “It’s such a privilege to have this opportunity to work on the best breakfast show in the business, in my hometown, with the people who first sparked my love for radio. I know how much fun these guys are, and it still feels surreal that I’ll be joining them on air next year!

“Nova is in my DNA, and coming back truly feels like a ‘coming home’ moment. Getting to do the thing you’ve always wanted to do is a dream come true. I can’t wait to return to Brisbane, and neither can my wife. My parents live in Brisbane, my wife’s parents live in Brisbane, and we feel blessed that our daughter now gets to grow up in our hometown.”

David Lutteral said “Nick is someone I’ve always respected who understands the importance of authentic radio, so it’s great to have him home. I don’t think Brisbane has ever had the energy it possesses right now. We all have a sense of pride and excitement for what lies ahead that is unprecedented. That’s a tempting proposition for Nova in 2026 and one we intend to grasp.

“I deeply cherish my friendship with Susie and what she has already achieved and can’t wait to be part of her next chapter. To do breakfast radio with an Olympic legend in an Olympic city is mind blowing for me and that’s a journey our listeners will join us on. So, it’s fresh yet familiar for me, and I promise it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Nova Network’s Group Programming Director, Brendan Taylor, added “We’re delighted to welcome Susie back to the Nova Brisbane breakfast show. Susie is an icon both on and off the air, and we look forward to hearing Susie bring her trademark competitive spirit, her unfiltered chat and her deep love for Brisbane to local audiences.

“We’re equally excited to welcome Nick to the team. Nick brings incredible energy, experience and a genuine passion for radio. His journey from starting out at Nova Brisbane to returning to host breakfast speaks volumes about his talent and dedication. This is a true full circle moment, and we’re delighted to have him back home, joining Susie and Luttsy for what is set to be an exciting new chapter for Nova Brisbane.”

Nikki Osborne’s final breakfast show is on December 12. The popular Australian comedian and social media star joined the Nova Network at the start of 2025 in her very first radio hosting role as co-host of Nova’s flagship breakfast show Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne.

Brendan Taylor said, “Watching Nikki evolve from stand-up comedian to top-rating breakfast host is testament to her incredible range and ability to connect with her audience. She’s a huge talent with a wealth of ideas and we’re excited for what’s next for her at NOVA Entertainment. I’d like to thank Nikki for her outstanding contribution so far and look forward to celebrating the work of the Brisbane breakfast team when Survey 8 results are released in the new year.”

  • Nova 106.9’s Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill is Brisbane’s newest Breakfast show, live weekdays from 6am to 9am. Listeners can tune in on-air, stream via the Nova Player, or catch up anytime with the daily podcast.

This dynamic trio brings a fresh twist to Brisbane’s longest-running breakfast show, blending humour, energy, and local flavour. For 17 years, Nova’s breakfast program has been a morning staple, and now it’s fresher than ever.

David “Luttsy” Lutteral remains a familiar voice, steering the #1 Breakfast show for years. Olympic champion and Aussie favourite Susie O’Neill returns after a year away, while Nick Allen-Ducat joins as the newest member, though it’s a homecoming to the station where his career began.

Together, they deliver a lively, laid-back vibe that keeps Brisbane entertained and connected with the perfect mix of laughs, local stories and Nova energy.

  • Nick began his radio career at just 17, starting out on the Nova street team before working his way through the ranks to become a seasoned on-air broadcaster. He spent two years as a producer on Nova’s Ash, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill breakfast show before making the move on air, hosting national nights across the Nova Network and later his own weekend breakfast program. Nick has also worked extensively across daytime programming in Brisbane, cementing his versatility and connection with audiences.

A proud Queenslander and Brisbane local, for the past six years, Nick hosted a breakfast show in Newcastle, broadcasting across regional New South Wales before returning to host Nova 106.9 Breakfast in Brisbane.

Entertainment and media run deep in Nick Allen-Ducat’s DNA. With a father who spent 40 years as a respected Channel 9 reporter and sisters also working in radio, broadcasting was always more than a career path — it was a natural calling.

Alongside radio, Nick is an accomplished television presenter. Since 2023, he has hosted the national Weekend Today weather on Channel 9 and previously fronted the kids’ sports game show Smashdown, also airing nationally.

Nick is also a highly sought-after MC, having hosted hundreds of events ranging from corporate conferences to large-scale charity galas. Known for his charisma, quick thinking, and vibrant presence, Nick consistently elevates events and keeps audiences engaged from start to finish.

As a voice over artist, Nick has voiced campaigns for Personalised Plates Queensland and the University of Queensland and has been the national voice of Oz Lotto since 2019. His screen experience extends into acting, with appearances in television commercials for Crimsafe and Energex, as well as a role in the feature film San Andreas, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Nick Allen-Ducat brings experience, personality, and an unmistakable love for entertainment – and if there’s a microphone nearby, chances are he’s already found it!

  • David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral co-hosts Nova 106.9’s Breakfast show, Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill.

Originally hired as the station’s sports guy in 2005 as part of the foundation Breakfast team, Luttsy quickly became a permanent fixture thanks to his sharp wit and infectious energy.

He’s loved being part of a show that transformed Brisbane’s radio landscape, and apart from a year-long sabbatical in Los Angeles in 2009, Luttsy has been a Nova mainstay ever since.

A passionate sports fan, particularly of rugby league and athletics, Luttsy has served on the board of the Queensland Academy of Sport and is a keen amateur athlete himself.

A familiar face on television for more than a decade, Luttsy appeared regularly on ABC TV’s The Fat, Nine Network’s NRL Footy Show, and FOX Sports’ The Back Page. Following Brisbane’s successful bid to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Luttsy also launched the podcast Toward the Games, Brisbane 2032 with Courier Mail Editor Chris Jones, exploring the future of sport, major events, and how fans will experience them over the next decade.

  • Susie O’Neill is a co-host on Nova 106.9’s Breakfast show Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill.

One of Australia’s most decorated swimmers, Susie claimed eight Olympic medals, 35 Australian titles, and dominated World Championships and Commonwealth Games throughout her stellar career.

After retiring from competitive swimming, Susie embraced a new challenge, joining Nova in 2013 as the show’s no-filter commentator while balancing motherhood, charity work, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and youth mentoring.

At the end of 2024, she stepped away from her much-loved Breakfast role to pursue other goals, but stayed part of the Nova family, hosting the holiday Breakfast show across the country with Matt Baseley and Mel Tracina.

Now, Susie is back behind the mic, waking up Brisbane every weekday and diving into her next chapter in 2026.

Beyond radio, she served as Deputy Chef de Mission for the Australian Olympic Team at the Tokyo 2021 Games and remains as fit and adventurous as ever. Whether swimming laps, trying the latest social craze, or snapping selfies with listeners, Susie brings her trademark energy and authenticity to everything she does.
