When Gina & Matty team up, it's not just a radio show; it's a daily dose of positivity and laughter. The pair bring an enthusiasm to the Coast that has already made them an inseparable part of the community. 

A household name in Australian country music, Gina Jeffreys first rose to prominence in 1991 after winning the iconic Starmaker award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. She went on to become the first Australian country artist to achieve platinum album sales, sell out shows nationwide, and take her music to international audiences.

Her music career has seen her tour with legends such as Lee Kernaghan, Kenny Rogers, Kris Kristofferson, Guy Sebastian, and Johnny Cash and her accolades include three consecutive Golden Guitar awards, an AIR award, two APRA awards, multiple MO and Country Music Awards, and several ARIA nominations.

Gina transitioned to radio in January 2022, initially co-hosting the Breakfast program on Star 104.5 with Dave Rabbets, and later teaming up with Matt Baseley in 2024. Her on-air energy, relatable banter and light-hearted humour continue to engage and entertain listeners across the Central Coast.

Gina’s radio talent was recognised when she was awarded The Brenno – Best New Talent On Air (Provincial) at the 2023 Australian Commercial Radio Awards for her work, a milestone achievement for both her and the Star 104.5 team in Gosford.

She is also an accomplished public speaker and mentor, creating the Gina Jeffreys Academy of Music to guide and inspire young talent across Australia.

Since joining Star 104.5 in 2024, Matt Baseley has become a familiar voice for Central Coast listeners, bringing his trademark humour, engaging storytelling and quick wit to the morning airwaves.

Before moving to Star 104.5, Matt built a highly respected career, starting in 2003 on Merrick & Rosso Breakfast Show at the newly launched Nova 96.9. Over a decade, he expanded his repertoire, hosting his own Night show, a national Drive program, and collaborating with radio icons such as Kate Ritchie, Chrissie Swan, Akmal Saleh, Cal Wilson, Sam Mac, and Maz Compton.

Matt’s career highlights include interviews with global stars like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, and members of the Spice Girls. He is also the voice behind several major sporting teams, including the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, NSW Waratahs, and Sydney Sixers, and is a sought-after MC for Cricket Australia, Tennis Australia, and Rugby Australia events.

At Star 104.5, Matt has quickly become a key part of the station’s identity, contributing to the fun, engaging, and interactive style of the Gina & Matty Breakfast show. His experience, energy and deep connection with listeners ensure that each morning on the Central Coast starts with entertainment, laughter and great radio.

Matt has also been heard across Star 104.5’s sister network, Nova, hosting the survey break Breakfast show Mel & Matty with Susie O’Neill alongside Nova Workday announcer Mel Tracina and Aussie swimming legend Susie O’Neill. The show takes over the Breakfast shift across the Nova Network while local teams are on a well-earned break.
