NOVA Announces New 106.9 Breakfast Lineup for 2026

NOVA Entertainment announced today that Susie O’Neill is returning to the Nova 106.9 Brisbane breakfast team as part of the brand-new Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill show, launching on January 19, 2026.

Joining Susie is her long-time Brisbane breakfast co-host, David “Luttsy” Lutteral along with newcomer to the breakfast lineup, Nick Allen-Ducat.

Current Brisbane breakfast co-host Nikki Osborne will remain with the NOVA Entertainment family, appearing on and hosting national network shows across the year and developing unique content slated for release in 2026.

Susie O’Neill is one of Australia’s most celebrated Olympians and a familiar voice to Nova Brisbane breakfast audiences, having launched her radio career with Nova Brisbane in 2013, before going on to co-host Nova’s flagship Brisbane breakfast show for more than ten years.

Said Susie, “It was a hard decision to step away from the breakfast show at the end of 2024, and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to dabble in projects this past year with the extended NOVA family. But now, I’m really looking forward to starting this next chapter.

“I’ve really missed the energy of live radio, and I’ve most definitely missed connecting with listeners. I’ve always believed early mornings are the best time of day and I can’t wait to be back on air in Brisbane with Nova Breakfast.”

Said Nikki, “I’ve loved everything about breakfast radio except for ridiculously early starts. I’m so proud I can say that in my first year we took the number one breakfast show title, and the cherry on top is that next year I get to work with NOVA on some exciting projects and most importantly, have a sleep-in now and then.”

Nick Allen-Ducat began his radio career at Nova 106.9 Brisbane at age 17, first as a member of the street team, then as assistant producer of the breakfast show and host of the Sunday show and its companion podcast. After transitioning into a career in television, Nick returned to radio to host a breakfast show in Newcastle for six years. His return to Nova marks a full circle moment.

Said Nick, “It’s such a privilege to have this opportunity to work on the best breakfast show in the business, in my hometown, with the people who first sparked my love for radio. I know how much fun these guys are, and it still feels surreal that I’ll be joining them on air next year!

“Nova is in my DNA, and coming back truly feels like a ‘coming home’ moment. Getting to do the thing you’ve always wanted to do is a dream come true. I can’t wait to return to Brisbane, and neither can my wife. My parents live in Brisbane, my wife’s parents live in Brisbane, and we feel blessed that our daughter now gets to grow up in our hometown.”

David Lutteral said "Nick is someone I’ve always respected who understands the importance of authentic radio, so it's great to have him home. I don't think Brisbane has ever had the energy it possesses right now. We all have a sense of pride and excitement for what lies ahead that is unprecedented. That's a tempting proposition for Nova in 2026 and one we intend to grasp.

“I deeply cherish my friendship with Susie and what she has already achieved and can't wait to be part of her next chapter. To do breakfast radio with an Olympic legend in an Olympic city is mind blowing for me and that's a journey our listeners will join us on. So, it's fresh yet familiar for me, and I promise it's going to be a lot of fun."

Nova Network’s Group Programming Director, Brendan Taylor, added “We’re delighted to welcome Susie back to the Nova Brisbane breakfast show. Susie is an icon both on and off the air, and we look forward to hearing Susie bring her trademark competitive spirit, her unfiltered chat and her deep love for Brisbane to local audiences.

“We’re equally excited to welcome Nick to the team. Nick brings incredible energy, experience and a genuine passion for radio. His journey from starting out at Nova Brisbane to returning to host breakfast speaks volumes about his talent and dedication. This is a true full circle moment, and we’re delighted to have him back home, joining Susie and Luttsy for what is set to be an exciting new chapter for Nova Brisbane.”

Nikki Osborne’s final breakfast show is on December 12. The popular Australian comedian and social media star joined the Nova Network at the start of 2025 in her very first radio hosting role as co-host of Nova’s flagship breakfast show Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne.

Brendan Taylor said, “Watching Nikki evolve from stand-up comedian to top-rating breakfast host is testament to her incredible range and ability to connect with her audience. She’s a huge talent with a wealth of ideas and we’re excited for what’s next for her at NOVA Entertainment. I’d like to thank Nikki for her outstanding contribution so far and look forward to celebrating the work of the Brisbane breakfast team when Survey 8 results are released in the new year.”

Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill will air weekdays from 6am on Nova 106.9 in Brisbane from Monday, January 19. Listeners can also stream the show live or catch up with the daily podcast by downloading the Nova Player.
